About Daap Toi
Share a table. Try more of the food you travelled for.
Daap Toi helps adults travelling or dining alone express a private meal plan — city, flexible meal window, food goals, language, budget and group-size preferences — and find compatible people who may be able to share a table. Participants then agree a restaurant and exact time before a table is confirmed. The purpose is to make limited travel meals count, not to provide dating, friendship or general social discovery.
On this page
- Daap Toi is a food-first coordination tool, not a dating app, friendship service or profile-browsing network.
- The current service is designed primarily for solo travelers who have limited meal opportunities and want to share portions, costs and local dishes.
- The service derives personalized meal opportunities from compatible private meal plans; users still decide whether to express interest and explicitly accept a restaurant and time.
- current trust tools include adult-only accounts, limited participant context, table chat, confidential reports, blocks and self-reported post-meal feedback.
1. What Daap Toi is for
We built Daap Toi to reduce the food regret that can come from having only a few meals in a city and too few people to try the menu properly.
- The service is centered on flexible meal demand, compatible food goals and small shared tables rather than follower counts, appearance or open-ended social discovery.
- It addresses the practical problem that a solo traveler may visit a city or restaurant only once but cannot reasonably order a wide spread of dishes alone.
- The goal is to help compatible diners move from a private intention to a clearly confirmed restaurant, time and participant set.
2. Who we serve
Daap Toi is designed for adults whose primary goal is a practical shared meal and a broader food experience.
- Solo travelers who want to make scarce meal slots count by trying more local or signature dishes.
- Other solo diners and short-term residents who share compatible city, time, food, language, budget and group-size constraints.
- People seeking dates, unrestricted direct messaging or profile-based social discovery should use a service designed for those purposes instead.
3. How the service works
The platform turns compatible private meal plans into a participant-controlled path toward a confirmed shared table.
- A user creates a meal plan containing a city, flexible time window, food goals, budget, languages and preferred group-size range; the full meal plan is not a public listing.
- The service groups compatible meal plans into personalized meal opportunities. A user must express interest before entering a proposed table.
- proposed table participants use table chat and Google-backed place search to suggest a restaurant and exact start and end time.
- A table becomes a locked confirmed table only after enough participants explicitly accept the same proposal.
4. How trust is built
current trust comes from limited contextual information, participant choice and private safety controls rather than public reputation scores.
- Accounts are adult-only and email-based, but email verification is not identity verification and does not guarantee a person's conduct.
- Event-scoped messaging, confidential reports and blocks support coordination and safety without creating general direct messaging or public accusations.
- current post-meal feedback is a participant's own attendance and food-value report; public reviews and no-show adjudication are not currently provided.
Daap Toi supports informed decisions and moderation, but it cannot guarantee the behavior of people in offline settings.
